High-speed and High-precision Tracking / Focusing Control for Optical disk System

Recently, for the recording of high-capacity digital contents such as a Super Hi-Vision, the next generation disk system, which is capable of the high-capacity and high-speed data transfer, is developed. The next generation disk system requires the narrow track pitch, the near field between the disk surface and optical head, and the high rotation speed. Therefore, the high-speed and high-precision tracking / focusing control of optical head is required.

To overcome this problem, we proposes the high-speed and high-precision tracking / focusing control system using the feedforward controller based on the periodicity of disturbance. The error prediction feedforward control based on the Zero Phase Error Tracking (ZPET) controller and the feedforward control using the pesudo-inverse matrix have been proposed in our laboratory.
